The Kremlin admitted it is in talks to import gasoline, a strange look for the world’s second-biggest crude oil exporter.

Putin himself admitted the shortage over the weekend, and rationing has already kicked in across several Russian regions and occupied Crimea.

Igor Girkin, a former officer with the Russian Army who played a key role in Russia’s annexation of Crimea, and who was later tried and imprisoned for his public views against Vladimir Putin’s ongoing strategy in Ukraine, has said in a post to Telegram from his prison cell, that Ukraine’s recent large-scale drone campaign against energy, industry, logistics, and military targets in Russian-occupied Crimea is the “setting the stage” for Ukrainian amphibious and ground operations aimed at recapturing Crimea.
