Fake perils make real money. The Southern Poverty Law Center, climate groups and other outfits profit from imagined menaces, writes Barton Swaimhttps://t.co/bZ4NIgwqlm

Russia’s gains on the battlefield have slowed considerably. The Institute for the Study of War assesses it’s taken “381.5 square kilometers and seized 13 settlements since the start of 2026, and that Russian forces have only seized two settlements and have actually lost 59.79 square kilometers across the theater since March 1.”
This, at a time when U.S. military aid to Kyiv has reduced by 99% since Trump assumed office, NATO PURL deliveries (paid for by Europe to arm Ukraine) are now inconstant because of the war in Iran, and Elbridge Colby is yet again blocking what little aid Congress authorized to be sent via the National Defense Authorization Act.
Ukraine is nightly pounding Russian energy infrastructure, cutting into the economic benefits of U.S. sanctions relief. Tuapse on a good day looks like a scene out of “Dante’s Peak.”
Meanwhile, Zelensky has cut decade-long defense cooperation deals with the major GCC countries and Turkey and restored diplomatic relations with Syria.
For the first time since 2022, Ukraine is now confident enough in its own domestic military capacity to export weapons abroad.
Finally, what Easter ceasefire? Ukraine recorded over 10,000 violations by Russia in a 32-hour period.
Trump is getting all this intelligence directly from CIA Director John Ratcliffe (and the CIA continues to aid Ukraine in striking Russian targets deep inside Russian territory), but clearly he prefers to be glazed and lied to by Putin, who helps Iran kill U.S. troops in the Middle East and boasts of inevitable military victory when his army can’t even convene a proper Victory Day parade on Red Square for fear of Ukrainian drone attacks.
There is a reason support for Ukraine grows among MAGA-aligned Republicans. They understand the president is full of shit; and they know a real a winner when they see one.Kateryna Lisunova (@KaterynaLis)‼️Putin and Trump spoke by phone for 90+ mins, Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov said. Putin said he’s ready to declare a Victory Day ceasefire; Trump supported it and said a Ukraine deal is “close.”
Ushakov said Trump also viewed Russia’s recent Easter ceasefire positively. At Trump’s request, Putin described the front line as Russia holding the initiative and pushing back Ukrainian forces, and reiterated that Moscow’s goals would be achieved—preferably via talks.
Putin added that a settlement would require Zelensky to accept previously outlined terms. This was their 12th call since Trump’s return to the WH in early 2025.
Ushakov also said Putin noted Russia has transferred 20K+ bodies to Kyiv since the start of 2025, receiving just over 500 in return.Separately, Putin expressed support for Trump following the April 25 assassination attempt in D.C. and condemned political violence. He also warned of “serious consequences” if the U.S. and Israel take military action against Iran, calling a ground op “unacceptable.”— https://x.com/KaterynaLis/status/2049551258835693983
