Lockheed Martin showed the progress on the first F-35A Lightning II aircraft for the German Luftwaffe at their Fort Worth, Texas, site today. German State Secretary Nils Hilmer was on site to sign the forward fuselage. Germany has ordered a total of 35 F-35A’s, and the first 8 will be delivered to Ebbing Air National Guard Base in Fort Smith, Arkansas, for pilot training.
