He got away with it for so long because the BBC protected him. They did so because he was a big celebrity and was friends with powerful political figures and royalty, incl. Princess Diana and Charles, now King.
He funded children’s hospitals to get access to vulnerable children to sexually abuse. He used his DJ and BBC’s Top of The Pops and Jim’ll Fixit shows to rape underage girls, many in his van parked outside the BBC TV Center in London.
Everyone turned a blind eye.
