Denzel Washington is set to portray General Hannibal Barca in Antoine Fuqua’s Netflix-backed biopic.
The film will chronicle the decisive campaigns Hannibal waged against Rome during the Second Punic War (218–201 B.C.).

Hannibal who was of Punic origin (Eastern Mediterranean) was in his 30s when he crossed the Alps with 38,000 infantry, 8,000 cavalry and 38 elephants.
