vasogenic edema. Patients with glioblastoma commonly develop vasogenic edema. Vasogenic edema is an accumulation of fluid in the brain (due to the tumor’s disruption of the blood-brain barrier). The surrounding edema can increase the mass effect of the tumor and is considered an irreversible process.
