Political analyst Melih Demirtaş spoke with AnewZ’s Nadia Gyane on Azerbaijan’s exclusion from the European Union’s new Connectivity Agenda Platform and why it raises significant questions about the initiative’s long-term viability, given Baku’s central role in the Middle Corridor linking Central Asia and Europe.
Demirtaş argued that geography, infrastructure and existing trade routes make Azerbaijan an indispensable actor in regional connectivity. He suggested the decision may reflect temporary political considerations and that Azerbaijan would eventually be included in future discussions.
