Authorities identified the man who was found dead in the residence as 66-year-old Tomie Lee Misner Jr. of Des Moines. Newton police and the Iowa Division of Criminal investigation continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Misner’s death. Autopsy results by the Office of the State Medical Examiner are still pending.
