Two Gulfstream IIIs with Phoenix Air, N163PA and N173PA, both of which are equipped with the Aeromedical Biological Containment System (ABCS) jointly developed by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Department of Defense (DoD), have departed from Chania International Airport in Crete, bound for Entebbe, Uganda. The jets will be used to transport an American medical missionary who recently tested positive for Ebola, as well as several others that had close high-risk contact with infected individuals, from the Democratic Republic of the Congo for treatment in Germany.
