No trains running: LIRR strike leaves 200K+ commuters without service

Long Island Rail Road service has shut down entirely after contract talks failed, stranding thousands of commuters across the region. Officials say the MTA and LIRR union workers were unable to reach a deal after days of negotiations, leading to a systemwide shutdown of train service.
