Positives:
• USV | RCV integration with infantry demonstrates ongoing doctrinal experimentation
• Individual soldiers carrying anti-UAV EW packs indicates recognition of the FPV threat environmentBut the footage also highlights what still appears to be a major blind spot in current infantry training doctrine.
Negatives:
• Massed formations and linear advances near the point of contact would present ideal targets for FPV operators and artillery observers
• Tightly clustered troops remain highly vulnerable to indirect fires

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth told Congress this week that the Pentagon has sent U.S. military personnel to Ukraine to study modern drone warfare, including FPV strike operations, deep rear drone attacks, interceptor drones, mobile fire teams, kinetic counter-UAS systems, and battlefield tracking technologies.
What was notably absent was any direct mention of away teams integrating with Ukrainian ground combat units to study survival strategies inside an FPV-saturated line of contact which, according to this footage, remains a major blind spot in current infantry training doctrine.
The most important lesson from Ukraine is not simply how to employ drones or defend against Shahed-style strikes. It is how difficult it has become to survive once the enemy has persistent surveillance and saturated FPV coverage of the line of contact and near rear.
This footage suggests that lesson has still not been fully internalized at the tactical infantry level.
I suspect these doctrinal deficiencies likely extend across most NATO ground forces.
