The nation state has until 8 p.m. ET to agree to a deal or he said “we’re blowing up the whole country.” That warning came at a news conference on Monday that also included information about the successful search and rescue of two airmen shot down over the Easter weekend.

Police say a 5‑year‑old boy fell from a fire escape outside his third‑floor apartment in Claremont Thursday morning. Authorities say the child snuck out onto the fire escape on East 167th Street and fell onto the sidewalk below. Paramedics say the boy hit the ground hard and was rushed to the hospital, where his family says he is alive but in serious condition and will require surgery as part of his recovery. Relatives told News 12 that this was not the first time the young child had accessed the fire escape. They say the family repeatedly asked building management to secure the apartment windows, fearing something like this could happen. Bystanders described a frantic scene as FDNY paramedics arrived within seconds, providing emergency care just feet from a nearby firehouse.
