Israel has intensified its bombing campaign in Lebanon, prompting Iran to warn it could withdraw from the ceasefire agreed with the US. Hundreds have been killed since the agreement was announced, after Israeli forces launched mass strikes on densely populated areas. Israel says the strikes are aimed at the Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah, while Iran claims they are a blatant violation of the ceasefire. Watch: Brazilian olympic stadium engulfed in flames

A fire broke out Wednesday morning at Rio de Janeiro’s Olympic Park velodrome, prompting a major emergency response involving about 80 firefighters and 20 vehicles, authorities said.

Rio state military fire department said the blaze was under control and largely confined to the venue’s fabric roof.

There have been no reported injuries, and the interior of the building — including the Olympic Museum — remained untouched.

The example of the Middle East now clearly shows that a ceasefire is possible. The United States has sufficient strength to make this happen. If they were able to secure a ceasefire in the Middle East, then there is enough strength to secure a ceasefire in Russia’s war against Ukraine as well – especially since Ukraine supports it.
