On the night of April 30, 2026, the Naval Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked Russian boats in the area of the Kerch Strait. The strikes were carried out using naval drones. As a result of the strike, a patrol boat of Russia’s Federal Security Service, “Sobol,” and an anti-sabotage boat, “Grachonok,” were hit. The Russian side suffered casualties, with both killed and wounded reported. These vessels are key units of the Coast Guard of the Border Service of the Federal Security Service and the Russian Navy, used to protect the Kerch Bridge and to counter sabotage activities. This is another example of the effective operations of the Ukrainian Naval Forces and the continued reduction of Russian capabilities in the waters of the Black Sea.
