FBI raids NW Indiana homes, restaurants in connection to alleged illegal sports gambling operation

An Indiana restaurateur is among more than 20 people facing federal charges in an alleged major sports betting investigation.

NBC Chicago reports James “Jimmy the Greek” Gerodemos and 21 others were charged with gambling-related crimes and violent extortion in a federal grand jury indictment in Northwest Indiana. Gerodemos is accused of running an illegal sports betting business across several states.
