A woman convicted of torturing and killing her domestic partner in New Rochelle has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, officials announced. The decomposing body of Concetta Morton was discovered three years ago on the third floor of a multifamily apartment. Prosecutors said Kenya Tilford tortured Morton over a three‑month period before ultimately killing her. Tilford was found guilty of all charges last month in what officials described as a historic case. The convictions included murder, concealment of a human corpse, and intimidating a victim or witness. Attorneys for Tilford say they plan to appeal the sentence.
