Who is Shelly Kittleson? The American journalist kidnapped by Iran-backed militia

Shocking video in Baghdad captures the moment American journalist, Shelly Kittleson, was abducted. On March 31, the 49-year-old reporter was standing on the side of the road when two men came up to her, and dragged her into the back of a car. The car drove away off and that was the last time Kittleson was seen. Her kidnappers are believed to be part of the Irani-backed militant group Kataib Hizballah. The group is considered to be the most powerful militia in Iraq.

Baby killed by stray bullet in Brooklyn shooting; Citywide manhunt launched

A 7‑month‑old baby girl was killed by a stray bullet in what is believed to be a gang‑related shooting in Bushwick Wednesday afternoon, according to authorities. Police say the baby was in a stroller when two men on a moped opened fire around 1:20 p.m. at the corner of Moore and Humboldt streets, where multiple children and adults were standing. One suspect, believed to be the shooter, is in custody. A second suspect remains on the run, prompting a citywide manhunt, NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said. Witnesses described chaos at the scene, just steps away from a day care. The baby’s father ran her five blocks to NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull, but she did not survive. While fleeing, police say the moped riders crashed into an oncoming vehicle near Siegel Street and Manhattan Avenue. Surveillance video shows the rear passenger hitting the pavement hard as authorities responded to a 911 call for an injured man. That individual was taken to the hospital and placed in custody for a separate domestic violence‑related robbery.
