(2026.03.22) – Turkish Interior Minister Mustafa Ciftci announced that more than 5,000 Iranian security forces and their families have fled to Turkey and sought asylum since the start of Operation Epic Fury.

If confirmed, this is a significant indicator of IRGC | Basij cohesion collapse. Security force personnel don’t abandon their posts and cross international borders with their families if they did not think their lives were at stake, meaning they believed the regime would collapse and feared being prosecuted or worse.

Turkey is already preparing contingency infrastructure for up to 90,000 arrivals. This may be the leading edge (20k to 24k with extended family) of a larger movement.
