According to Reuters, citing unnamed congressional aids, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) barred flights over Fort Hancock, Texas and surrounding areas due to the accidental shoot-down of a government drone by a military counter-unmanned aircraft system (C-UAS). The drone, a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) drone, was flying in an area characterized increased cartel drone traffic near the Mexico-U.S. border. According to the FAA, the incident did not impact commercial flights.
