A dramatic face-off unfolded in Shimla late Wednesday night between Delhi Police and Himachal Pradesh Police. Officers from the National Capital were stopped from arresting three accused linked to the Youth Congress shortlist protest at the AI summit last week. The standoff reportedly continued for 24 hours. During this period, the Delhi Police team was detained twice and a case was also filed against them. The team was eventually cleared to leave for the National Capital with the accused in custody.
