26 February Summary

We’re now looking at almost 310 flights (C-17/C-5) into bases in the Middle East since the 15th January, and 16 pending flights for both Army and Air Force.

Additionally, the past 24 hours has also seen further tankers deploy to Israel, with 8 KC-46s headed to Ben Gurion Airport in Israel. We’re now looking at around 66 tankers deployed to airports across Europe and Israel – excluding Al Udeid.

Twelve “HL” F-35As from Hill Air Force Base, and twelve “MO” F-15Es from Mountain Home Air Force Base arrived in the United Kingdom at RAF Lakenheath this evening.

Mildenhall is supporting these fighter movements with both visiting and based tankers. Typically, a Coronet would see tankers deploy to Mildenhall a few days before the movement. At the moment though, we’re seeing tankers from the 100th Air Refuelling Wing supporting these movements.

There are still two pending Coronet missions. CE045 with “SJ” F-15Es has so far only resulted in two jets making it across the Atlantic, with the remaining 10 still at Seymour Johnson. CE046 saw tankers positioning from Beale AFB to McConnell AFB today, and their receivers are currently unknown – possibly more “HL” F-35s or “AK” F-22s.

I will post a summary of the Coronets in the update tomorrow, as I am once again in a hotel in Suffolk hoping for F-22 departures in the morning 🙂
