Georgia recorded 6,856,809 international visits in 2025, a 6.2% increase from 2024, according to recently released data from the National Tourism Administration under the Ministry of Economy.

Russia led international visits with 1,579,764, accounting for 23% of the total and up 11% from 2024. Meanwhile, visits from the EU countries and the United Kingdom reached 499,890, a “record” figure, according to the Tourism Administration. They accounted for 7.2% of all international visits and were up 14% from 2024.

International visits include tourist visits and one-day visits. Of the total, 5,521,866 (80.5%) were tourist visits, meaning visitors stayed in Georgia at least one night. The tourist visits were up 8.4% from 2024 and reached a “historic high,” according to the agency. The remaining 19.5% (1,334,943) were one-day visits, meaning visitors did not stay overnight.

Below are the top 15 countries accounting for the highest number of international visits to Georgia in 2025, with the percentage change compared with 2024:

1. Russia – 1,579,764 visits (up 11.1%)  
2. Turkey – 1,248,881 visits (down 6.6%)
3. Armenia – 948,242 visits (no change) 
4. Israel – 402,426 visits (up 29.4%)
5. Azerbaijan – 292,149 visits (up 33.2%)
6. Kazakhstan – 169,367 visits (down 5.3%)
7. Belarus – 150,325 visits (up 7%)
8. India – 142,476 visits (up 14.6%)
9. Ukraine – 136,826 visits (up 15.4%)
10. China – 127,895 visits (up 44.4%)
11. Iran – 120,068 visits (down 17.6%)
12. Saudi Arabia – 96,340 visits (up 9.1%)
13. Germany – 83,656 visits (up 6.4%) 
14. Poland – 79,722 visits (up 19.9%) 
15. Uzbekistan – 72.913 visits (up 13.5%)

The list, led by Russia, includes all of Georgia’s neighbors and two EU countries – Germany and Poland – ranking 13th and 14th, respectively.

According to a press release from the Tourism Administration, there were 145,513 visits from Persian Gulf countries in 2025, a 3.4% increase from the previous year. Visits from Saudi Arabia rose particularly sharply, up 9.1%.

Visitors aged 31-50 accounted for the largest share (47.4%), while men made up 60.4% of total arrivals, according to the agency’s data.

In total, the number of international travels, which includes not only international visits but every crossing of Georgia’s borders, amounted to 7,803,239, a 5.9% increase from 2024.
