It appears that a Rossiya Special Flight Squadron Tu-214SR has been flying the pre-planned Red Wings commercial route from Moscow to Tel Aviv since January 6, 2026 and is currently en route to Israel for the fourth flight in just under 48 hours. The Tu-214SR variant is a special mission, secure communications, government transport platform and not a commercial passenger aircraft.
The Moscow–Tel Aviv route is typically serviced by two or more Red Wings Tu-214 civilian airframes.
Normal pattern:
RA-64517 | MSN 42305016 | Hex 14FC05
RA-64518 | MSN 44709018 | Hex 14FC06Both are standard commercial variants used for passenger service.
The route is now being flown by a Rossiya Special Flight Squadron Tu-214SR.
New pattern:
RA-64549 | MSN 42507013 | Hex 14FC04 | Callsign RWZ015
The critical point is that the ICAO hex, registration, serial number, operator, and variant all changed and have remained consistent across four consecutive flights. This is not a labeling error. The aircraft itself changed.
A strategic government aircraft has replaced civilian commercial route for Red Wings DME–TLV flight. This is a Russian federal government platform overriding of a civilian air route. The Tu-214SR can accommodate up to 64 passengers, but it is designed for secure communications and special mission tasking. Using it in shuttle mode on a civilian route indicates active, state-controlled movement of high-value human assets.

TOO OBSCURE TO MATTER
Tom Wolfe cut his teeth at the New York Herald Tribune — a paper very friendly to Brit intelligence during WWII and later owned by former OSS officer (umored rich guy), Jock Whitney. @JackSussekWill Tanner (@Will_Tanner_1)If you haven’t read The Bonfire of the Vanities and A Man in Full Yet, you should do yourself a favor and read both immediatelyWolfe, with his perfect ability to drive a verbal stake through the heart of the bankers, Civil Rights hacks, journalists, and so on, wrote the perfect rightist novels, and they are absolutely hilarious— https://x.com/Will_Tanner_1/status/2008922970371043412
