How U.S. Forces Captured Venezuela’s President

He justified the operation as necessary to protect American security interests and restore order in Venezuela after years of economic collapse and political repression.

Amid global shock and diplomatic uproar, Venezuela’s vice president was rapidly sworn in under a constitutional provision that allows the second-in-command to assume power when a president is removed. This move further deepened political uncertainty inside the country.

The operation was the result of months of planning and intelligence activity, with U.S. forces and law enforcement agencies reportedly coordinating the strategy. While the Pentagon has not released full operational details, sources indicate that the mission employed air strikes, ground forces, and special operations teams in a tightly timed assault similar to past high-profile raids.

Now the world watches as Venezuela enters uncharted territory. Some see the operation as a decisive blow against a regime accused of corruption and human rights abuses. Others view it as a dangerous precedent in international relations and a violation of national sovereignty. With Maduro now in U.S. custody, the debate over legitimacy, law, and power has only just begun.
