The NYPD says a woman is in custody after a young child was found unattended in Bensonhurst’s Lt. Joseph Petrosino Park on Sunday afternoon. Police say they received the call a little before 1:30 p.m. According to the FDNY, the child may have been suffering from hypothermia, and they were taken to the hospital in stable condition. The woman was taken into custody shortly before 5:15 p.m. She had not been charged as of Sunday night. Police had not released any information about what her exact relationship to the child is as of Sunday night.
