In some way, it would have been understandable to demand from Armenia a corridor-type road to Nakhichevan if #Karabakh and the Lachin Corridor still existed. However, Armenia never agreed to provide a road through its territory equivalent to the Lachin Corridor toward Nakhichevan.
After Karabakh came under Azerbaijan’s control, Azerbaijan can no longer demand a corridor-type road from Armenia. Everything is very simple. The law of physics applies: when there is no action, there can be no reaction. When there is no Karabakh and no Lachin Corridor, there can be no “Zangezur Corridor” either.
There can only be a road operating under the sovereignty of Armenia. If #Azerbaijan does not agree to receive a road under Armenia’s sovereignty, that is not Armenia’s problem. We are under no obligation to surrender our rights over our state territory to any party.
