Day: July 2, 2023
We take the walk to Manhattan Beach located just south of the Sheepshead Bay Marina, and East of the Brighton Beach section, separated by the small neighborhood community on Oriental Blvd. We will start the walk at the Sheepshead Bay station serving the Q and B trains in South Brooklyn, and then make our way to East 14th St and the Pedestrian Bridge going over the Belt Parkway by Emmons Avenue. Once we make our way past Emmons Avenue and the Marina, we will take a stroll through the quiet neighborhood of Manhattan Beach and walk along Oriental Blvd and take a look at some of the most expensive and nicest houses in the area.
We will eventually make our way to Manhattan Beach and walk around the park grounds surrounding the beach before taking a walk onto the beach itself. We will wrap up the walk on the park grounds with some views of the ocean and beach.
The area is back under the smoke alert from the Canadian Wildfires, with visible haze keeping the sun obscured, but the weather was still very nice with a very nice clean sea breeze coming off the ocean. Many people and children enjoying a day at the beach.
Enjoy the walk and take in the sounds of some busy streets in the beginning of the walk, and then transition to quiet streets, eventually ending with the sounds of the beach and ocean. As always, thanks for taking the walk with me!
