FYI: There was no warrant and the information was provided without a formal legal request from law enforcement–i.e., it appears its disclosure was voluntary. Under the law and constitution, only a judge can make the determination of probable cause and issue a warrant for the collection of evidence. I will add that if anyone ends up being convicted in connection with the Vegas incident, a greenhorn attorney could get the evidence thrown out and possibly some or all of the charges dropped due to what is known as the “fruit of the poisonous tree” legal doctrine.
