Buyers (the Saudi, among the others) Beware: a Pantsir-S1 air defense system radars are not reliable in distinguishing between drones (especially disguised as the attacking birds) and the civilian aircraft.

“False positives:

Due to the difficulty in distinguishing between small drones and civilian aircraft, the system may misidentify civilian aircraft as threats, leading to potential civilian casualties.” – GS

As if it were written about the Grozny incident.

In addition to being deficient by design, these systems, like any other, might be the target of the electronic warfare attacks aiming to change and confuse the images and distances on the radars as desired by the attackers.

This should be taken into consideration while addressing the Grozny attempted landing prior to Aktau Crash.
