BREAKING: Huge numbers of Al-Qaeda in Mali (JNIM) terrorists are flooding into the city of Sevare. The city of 40,000 people is located 10 km from the larger city of Mopti (70 000 people). The two cities form a vital transport and logistics hub which sits on the main east-west route connecting Gao and Timbuktu with Ségou and the capital Bamako to the southwest. It also provides access southward toward Bandiagara and Burkina Faso. Sevare used house the military headquarters of the G5 Sahel Joint Force which was later used by Malian forces and the Russian Africa Corps.
