I bought my car brand new back in 2019 for $22,800. I sold that same car to Carmax last August after 43,000 miles and several dings and scratches for $22,500 and was able to use the $7,000 positive equity as a down payment for a truck I essentially paid a principal of $300 to own that car for over 3 years.
