Fires continue to burn at the site of a forward operations base utilized by U.S. Special Forces in Southern Iran during last night’s operation to rescue the Weapons System Officer (WSO) of a downed F-15E Strike Eagle. Reports indicate that forces suffered problems while attempting to extract from Iran, ultimately resulting in the destruction of two transport aircraft, likely C-130 Hercules, in order to prevent them falling into the hands of Iranian Forces.
