Russia has said it is ready to take in Iran’s enriched uranium as part of a possible future peace agreement between the United States and Iran.
According to the Kremlin, the proposal was first raised by Vladimir Putin in discussions with both Washington and regional partners, and remains on the table.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed that Moscow is willing to act as a storage or transfer point for Iran’s nuclear material, should a broader diplomatic deal be reached.
The idea comes amid ongoing negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program, where the U.S. continues to demand restrictions on enrichment and removal of highly enriched uranium stockpiles.
The proposal positions Russia as a potential mediator in one of the most sensitive global security negotiations.
