Trump has posted a two-week ceasefire announcement on Truth Social, conditional on Iran’s complete, immediate, and safe opening of the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump states the U.S. has “met and exceeded all military objectives” and describes Iran’s 10-point proposal as “a workable basis on which to negotiate,” adding that “almost all points of past contention have been agreed to.”
Trump’s post mentions the Strait of Hormuz, military objectives, and a peace agreement with the exiting regime. It does not mention the Iranian people once.
For 92 million Iranians still living under IRGC rule, the “longterm problem” is far from close to resolution.

The IDF has published drone footage showing the military hunting down Hezbollah gunmen in southern Lebanon. The video shows the identification of armed Hezbollah operatives by the 146th Division, which is operating in the western sector of southern Lebanon. An Israeli strike on the southern Lebanese coastal city of Sidon has killed at least eight people.
Lebanon’s Health Ministry said another 22 people were wounded in the strike.
