⚡️Zelensky arrives in Syria for talks with leadership amid Middle East war

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Syria on April 5, the latest in a string of visits to the Middle East in the wake of the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran.

Zelensky will meet with Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa in Damascus, Syria TV said.  kyivindependent.com/zelensky…

Обговорили й обставини війни Росії проти України, вдячний за підтримку. Є великий інтерес до обміну воєнним і безпековим досвідом. Дякую за слова поваги до наших людей.

Також торкнулися ролі України як надійного постачальника продовольчої продукції та обговорили спільні можливості посилити продовольчу безпеку в усьому регіоні. Дуже добре розуміємо, які енергетичні та інфраструктурні виклики має Сирія зараз. Готові працювати разом, щоб можливості наших держав і народів збільшувались.

Talks with the President of Syria, Ahmed al-Sharaa  @AH_AlSharaa.

We agreed to work together to bring greater security and more opportunities for development to our societies. We discussed the situation in the region and the prospects for changing it for the better. We also went over the circumstances of Russia’s war against Ukraine – I am grateful for the support. There is strong interest in exchanging military and security experience. I appreciate the words of respect for our people.

We also touched on Ukraine’s role as a reliable supplier of food products and discussed joint opportunities to strengthen food security across the region. We understand very well the energy and infrastructure challenges Syria is currently facing. We are ready to work together to expand opportunities for both our countries and their people.
