I also vividly remember the Apollo moon landing. I was doing my military service, but was listening to my short wave radio on the direct transmission as mankind took its first steps on another planetary object. @AschbacherJosefJosef Aschbacher (@AschbacherJosef)It’s no surprise that one of the most defining memories of my childhood is the Apollo 11 Moon landing. I was just a little kid. I can still place myself there: lying in the steep field behind my family’s farmhouse in Tyrol, a wide-eyed child staring up at the night sky in disbelief and wonder. The idea that humans were walking on that distant, shining rock felt almost impossible to grasp. How had they gotten there?
In that moment, something sparked—a quiet but persistent flame of curiosity that would go on to shape the course of my life.
Now, years later, I find myself standing in awe once again, this time before a towering rocket at @NASAKennedy Space Center. I’m here to witness firsthand humanity’s return to the Moon after more than half a century. It feels like everything has come full circle.
