C’est une victoire immense pour les océans, pour le vivant, pour l’humanité.
La haute mer ne sera plus un Far West livré aux prédations : elle devient un espace de responsabilité partagée.
De 8 pays en 2024, puis 60 États engagés en 2025 au Sommet de Nice sur l’Océan, à 83 aujourd’hui, la communauté des nations a tenu parole.
Ensemble, nous nous donnons les moyens de protéger 30 % des mers et des océans d’ici 2030, soit plus de la moitié de la surface totale de notre planète.
C’est le fruit d’une mobilisation collective exceptionnelle portée par des négociateurs, des scientifiques, des citoyens, tous convaincus que l’avenir se construit ensemble. Je veux les en remercier.
C’est le choix de la responsabilité face à l’indifférence, de la coopération face au repli, l’honneur de l’humanité face au désordre du monde.
Quand nous nous rassemblons autour de l’essentiel, nous prouvons que le progrès est possible. Alors continuons. Ensemble.
