The number of fatalities linked to the protests in Iran has climbed to a minimum of 35, as the nation’s theocratic leadership acknowledged disturbances in a western province, where reports indicate that security forces conducted a raid on a hospital.

This statistic was provided by the Human Rights Activists News Agency, a U.S.-based organization, which reported that over 1,200 individuals have been apprehended during the protests that have persisted for more than a week.

According to the agency, the casualties include at least 29 protesters, four children, and two members of Iran’s security forces.

Protests have erupted in more than 250 locations across at least 27 of the 31 provinces in Iran.

The organization, which gathers information through a network of activists within the country, has demonstrated accuracy in its previous reports concerning civil unrest.

According to the semiofficial Fars news agency, which is thought to have ties to Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard, approximately 250 police officers and 45 individuals from the Guard’s volunteer Basij force have sustained injuries during the protests.

However, the Iranian government has not released any comprehensive data or details regarding the situation.

In a related development, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reached out to Russian President Vladimir Putin, asking him to deliver messages aimed at easing tensions with Iran, thereby suggesting that Israel has no plans for military action against the country.
