During today’s Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl at Amon G. Carter Stadium on the campus of Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas, a routine pregame parachute stunt descended into chaos, as a member of the “All Veteran Group” Parachute Demonstration Team collided with the field goal net, before falling roughly 35ft onto the concrete below, nearly landing on the band for Texas State.
Thankfully, reports have stated that the parachutist only suffered minimal to minor injuries, and was able to walk soon after the crash, with university officials attributing the incident to heavy winds early Friday. Of the six-man parachute team, only four were able to safely land on the field, with one being forced to land outside the stadium while the other struck the net, resulting in no injuries to bystanders or the parachutists, a Spokesperson told NewsNation.
