South Korea fired warning shots Friday morning at a North Korean-operated commercial vessel that had crossed the Northern Limit Line (NLL) near the Island of Baengnyeong. The South Korean Navy, which had been monitoring the ship’s advance toward the NLL, issued warning broadcasts, but the vessel continued its course until it crossed the line, triggering the navy vessel to fire dozens of warning shots and shells, causing the ship to quickly turn back towards North Korea.

Donald Trump signed an executive order declaring his plan to sell TikTok’s U.S. operations legal. Trump claims that Chinese President Xi Jinping has approved the deal for TikTok’s Chinese parent company, ByteDance, to relinquish control in the United States. US Vice President JD Vance says the sale would value the new, majority American-owned company at $14 billion — considerably less than many analysts were expecting.
