One Nation has gained an unexpected Senate seat in New South Wales, taking Pauline Hanson’s party to four members in the upper house – equalling its best-ever result in a federal election.

Warwick Stacey – a former member of the British army – has snagged the sixth Senate seat in NSW, and will join fellow new senator Tyron Whitten who was yesterday elected in Western Australia.

President Donald Trump and Elon Musk are set to speak from the Oval Office on Friday following the news of Musk’s departure from the White House and the end of his work with DOGE. Musk has lately been critical of the Trump-backed budget bill, saying it does not factor in the cuts DOGE proposed. Phil Wegmann, the White House correspondent for Real Clear Politics, says the speech will be must-watch TV to see how Trump and Musk interact following his comments.
Former RNC spokesperson Elizabeth Pipko says the media is quick to jump on any anti-Trump comments, but concedes that the relationship between the two will be closely watched.
