A Liberian-flagged ship sank off the Kochi coast on May 24. All the crew members onboard were rescued. However, the vessel had 640 containers and it capsized completely, sparking the risk of oil spills. Indian Coast Guard informed that 12 containers on the ship carried Calcium Carbide.
