Iranian officials today were sceptical about Saturday’s talks, but they have agreed to take part. Iran’s foreign minister Abbas Araqchi said they would be indirect, likely with Omani mediators shuttling between the parties. He said Tehran wants to see concrete gestures from the US before any officials talk face-to-face.
