Days after a televised row in the Oval Office with President Trump, Ukraine’s leader Volodymyr Zelensky has reiterated his commitment to peace and to bring an end to the war with Russia. In a post on X he had thanked the US for all they had done for his country and that they were ready to sign a deal with America to grant the US access to Ukrainian minerals.

Rising tensions between France and Algeria escalated last week when French Prime Minister François Bayrou threatened to cancel a longstanding agreement with Algeria on free movement. The move came after a deadly knife attack in eastern France in which the main suspect is an Algerian national whom France had tried to expel multiple times.
