At least two lives have been lost, thousands of acres burned and hundreds of homes and businesses destroyed from the spreading Palisades Fire. Rep. Sydney Kamlager-Dove, D-Calif., says she spent most of the night trying to locate her father and woke up to calls from friends who were trapped as the fire spread. In terms of the government response, Kamlager-Dove says that “California is stretched thin,” which highlights why the federal government is needed and all agencies need to be funded.
