Global conflict forces detours and delays in Africa’s maritime trade

The vast majority of Africa’s trade, about 90% is carried out via sea routes, but geopolitical conflicts have hit maritime trade hard from the war in Ukraine to attacks on commercial shipping in the red sea that have forced costly detours and delays.
